
Overview
TOLES is an international legal English certification. It means ‘Test of Legal English Skills’. It is administered by Global Legal English Limited in the UK and they are members of the International Division of the Law Society of England and Wales. TOLES tests your knowledge of legal English within the context of English and international law.
How many levels are there?
There are three levels of exam – Foundation, Higher and Advanced. In order to start at Foundation all you need is an elementary level of general English.
What does it cover?
The main topics of the exams include commercial contracts drafted in English, forms of business and the vocabulary of finance.
Who should attend?
- Lawyers, law students, legal translators, paralegals, legal researchers, judges and other legal professionals.
- Individuals in Banking, insurance, HR staff and business professionals can certainly benefit from the course and the exam.
